A Palestinian bridal wedding headdress and burqa veil, the woven cap mounted with coins from the Ottoman Empire which include approx. 76 1½ piastre coin of the Ottoman Sultan Mahmud II (1785-1839) with mint date 1815 and approx. 80 smaller coins. The veil is mounted with over 160 further thin white metal coins and four beaded tassels.
Together with a Bedouin white metal hirz pendant (af), with three graduating panels set with red glass, the largest panel approx. 5x7cm, the handmade chain with four interspersed beads of compressed cylindrical form, 57cmL; and a further white metal bedouin necklace set with red and turquoise glass cabochons, with eight chain tassels
